Day 1: March 8 – USA – ROME
Departure from the US to Rome.
Day 2: March 9 – Rome
Upon arrival, we will meet our tour guide. Transfer to our hotel. Dinner and overnight in Rome.
Day 3: March 10 – Rome
Papal Audience – The Basilica of St. Mary Major – The Basilica of St. John the Lateran – The Holy Steps -– St. Paul Outside The Walls This morning after breakfast, we attend the Papal Audience at the St Peter’s Square. We drive through Capitoline Hill, Roman Forum, Coliseum, and Arch of Constantine, Circus Maximus, Old Appian Way, and Palazzo Venezia. Thereafter, we visit the three major Basilicas in Rome: St Mary Major,The Basilica of St John the Lateran & St Paul Outside the Walls. Celebrate Mass where possible.
Day 4: March 11 – Rome
Free day roaming in Rome, enjoy at your own leisure. You may want to visit the Trevi Fountain, Sistine Chapel, Spanish and enjoy shopping.
Day 5: March 12 – Rome – Tel Aviv
This morning we will fly to Tel Aviv, Israel. Upon arrival in Israel, we will meet our tour guide and transfer to our hotel. If time allows, we will have a city tour in Tel Aviv and lunch at Jaffa.
Day 6: March 13 – Stella Maris, Nazareth, Cana, Tiberias/Haifa
In Haifa, we will visit the Carmelite Monastery and the Church of the Prophet Elijah. Continue to Nazareth to visit the Church of the Annunciation, Church of St. Joseph and Mary’s Well. Visit the First Miracle site in Cana where couples may renew their wedding vows. Dinner and overnight in Tiberias/Haifa.
Day 7: March 14 – Sea of Galilee, Boat Ride, Capernaum, Mt. of Beatitudes, Tabgha
We will drive to Capernaum, the town of Jesus where he performed many miracles and visit the House of St. Peter and the ruins of the ancient Synagogue where Jesus preached. Stop at Tabgha and visit the Primacy of St. Peter & the Church of the Miracle of the multiplication of the Loaves and Fishes. Then visit the Church of Beatitudes. Boat ride on the Lake of Galilee. Dinner and overnight in Tiberias/Haifa.
Day 8: March 15 – Jordan River, Mt Tabor, Jericho, Jerusalem
Enjoy a spectacular view of upper Galilee on the way to Mt Tabor, where Jesus transfigured in the presence of Peter, James, and John. Celebrate Mass in the Church of Transfiguration. Drive down the Jordan Valley to Jericho, the oldest continuously inhabited city in the world, where we view Mt Temptation and an example of a Sycamore Tree. Visit the Baptismal site on the Jordan River.
Day 9: March 16 – Bethlehem, Jerusalem
After breakfast, we will drive to Bethlehem and visit the Church of Nativity where Jesus was born. We will also see the Shrine of Milk Grotto nearby. Women flock there to pray to increase their milk or conceive a baby. Then we will visit the Shepherds’ Field & Angels Chapel, Church of Visitation in Ein Karem.
Day 10: March 17 – Jerusalem
Today, very early in the morning we will follow the Stations of the Cross along the Via Dolorosa to the Holy Sepulcher and celebrate Mass. Thereafter, we will see the Christian – Armenian Quarters, the Wailing Wall, the Upper Room where Jesus instituted the Eucharist & the Priesthood, the Pater Noster Church and Mount of Olives to the Garden of Gethsemane where Jesus endured his Agony. If time allows, visit the old city of Jerusalem: Bethesda Pool and St. Anne Church, believed to be the site where Jesus healed a paralytic (John 5:1-15).
Day 11: March 18 – Jerusalem – Istanbul/Izmir
This Morning we will fly to Istanbul/Izmir, Turkey. Upon arrival, we will meet our tour guide and go straight to visit the House of Mother Mary in Ephesus. Tradition tells us that the Apostle John accompanied Mary to Ephesus. After the Mass, we will visit, the Basilica of St. John and visit St. John’s tomb. If time allows, we will see the antique city of Ephesus with its theatre, Library, Temple of Artemis – declared as one of the Seven Wonders of the ancient world.
Day 12: March 19 – Izmir, Istanbul, Turkey – USA
Today we catch our flight back to the US of A. Home sweet home.
